Employment Europe:
Unless stated otherwise, to be eligible for a position within CFSU(E), you must fall within the definition of "member of the civilian component" under NATO SOFA. This expression excludes persons who are (1) nationals of any state which is not a party to NATO, as well as (2) nationals of or (3) ordinary residents in the state in which the Force is located.
When specifically outlined on the vacancy notice and in exceptional circumstances only, where an eligible candidate as described above cannot be found, persons legally eligible to work in the country at the time of application may be considered for employment.

Student Term Employment Program (STEP):
Dependent students of Canadian Forces Military and Civilian Component members, who are covered by the NATO SOFA, are eligible for consideration for Summer Term Employment. These students must be at least 16 years old by the commencement of employment and registered in the following fall season in a secondary or post-secondary institution, where they must pay tuition.

Other Employment:
The Director General Personnel and Family Support ServicesLien(s) Internet (DGPFSS) employs people in various locations throughout Europe, where Canadian Forces members are stationed. This includes PSP, CMFRC, CFN and Health Promotion.

NATEX Lien(s) Internetis a commercial retail operation on the NATO air base that employs people in retail operations, warehouses and in the office. 

Employment opportunities exist with NATO Lien(s) Internet, either in Geilenkirchen, Germany, Brussels, Belgium or other locations throughout Europe.

Royal Lepage/Integrated Relocation Pilot Program Lien(s) Internet(IRPP) operates an office in Niederheid that employs staff.  
    
The translation services office in Niederheid/Germany requires the services of translators (English/French and English/German) on a regular basis. Interested persons are paid on a piece work basis.

Emergency Term Hire (ETH) Inventory:
The Regional Civilian Personnel Office (Europe) maintains an inventory of qualified individuals for short-term employment.  By submitting an application form and resume/CV to the RCPO, located in the Terry Fox Halle at the Selfkant-Kaserne in Niederheid, you can become part of this inventory and your application held pending your continued interest.

When the RCPO(E) receives a request to fill a position on a short-term basis, you can be called upon to work for various periods of time in a variety of positions. As an ETH, you can work up to 92 consecutive calendar days in one position, or up to 125 working days per year in various positions.

In the event that a position is advertised for competition that is temporarily filled by an ETH, the ETH may apply for the position.  All applicants for the position are treated and tested equally and no preferential treatment is given to any applicant.
