Computer Skills Evaluation
Quimperléstr. 100 Selfkant-Kaserne, 52511 Geilenkirchen, Germany
The majority of our local civilian positions require computer skills and subsequent testing. In order to simplify matters and reduce the time required to staff positions, generic pre-qualified computer testing for MS WORD and MS EXCEL has been instituted for publicly funded positions in Europe.
Persons intending to compete for positions advertised by either organization are encouraged to register for the testing. Examinations will be conducted on a regular and as-needed basis. Space is limited for each advertised test date; reservations will be made on a first-come first-served basis.
There will be two progressive levels of skill tests offered for each software program: Basic and Intermediate.
The test is set up in such a way that the Intermediate Level test carries on from where the Basic Level test left off. Candidates, who have passed the Basic Level and wish to attempt the Intermediate Level on another date, will be required to schedule their Intermediate Level test no later than 6 weeks after their successful Basic Level test date. Candidates will be required to repeat the Basic Level if more than 6 weeks have passed.
Candidates will be limited to three attempts to write and pass either the Basic or the Intermediate Level of the test. If the first attempt is unsuccessful, the candidate will be allowed to try twice more. If the candidates are not successful after three attempts, they may not write the test again until one month has passed. It is expected that this waiting period will be used to upgrade skills by either taking a course, or practicing at home. As well, a one-month waiting period will be required for any subsequent unsuccessful results.
Certificates of qualification will be issued upon successful completion at each level and will be valid for a period of one year as pre-qualification of computer skills requirements in upcoming local staffing processes. If a competition is advertised that requires pre-qualification, candidates must possess a valid certificate prior to the closing date of the competition.
Interested persons are required to register no later than 3 working days prior to the date of examination sessions. Please contact the Administrative Assistant/Personnel Clerk at +49-(0) 2451-717219
