Oberammergau is a popular tourist resort and known as the home of a long tradition of woodcarving. The streets of central Oberammergau are home to dozens of woodcarver shops, with pieces ranging from religious subjects, to toys, to humorous portraits.

Last but not least, the world known “Passion Play “
The famous “Passion Play”, which originated in 1634, is performed here in Oberammergau. It was first presented by the inhabitants in gratitude for the end of a plague. Except for the years 1870, 1920, and 1940, the play has been presented every tenth year since 1680 in keeping a vow made by the 17th-century townspeople.
“Passion Play” premieres on 15th May 2010 and will be staged for 102 days.
Here is your chance to take in a rare historical event that many have waited 10 years for. PSP has been very fortunate to secure an apartment in the well sought after Town of Oberammergau for the following weeks:
