Welcome to Brussels
Boul. Leopold III 1110 Brussels, Belgium

Welcome to the website of the Canadian Military Representative to NATO.  The Canadian Military Representative, Lieutenant-General Christopher Davis, is the senior military officer within the Canadian Joint Delegation to NATO and represents the Chief of the Defence Staff on the Military Committee, the Alliance’s highest military decision-making body.  The Canadian Joint Delegation to NATO is headed by Ambassador Robert McRae, the Permanent Representative of Canada to the North Atlantic Council, NATO’s highest decision making body.

As the Deputy Military Representative, I am Commanding Officer of the CF members and DND civilian staff in Brussels.  This group includes CF members and DND civilian staff of the Canadian Joint Delegation, CF members of the NATO HQ International Military Staff, the Canadian Forces Support Unit (Europe) Detachment Brussels, CF members in NATO agencies and project offices co-located with NATO HQ and the CF student at the Belgium Staff College.

Brussels is the capital city of Belgium, a small country bordered by France, Germany, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.  In addition to being the home for NATO Headquarters, Brussels is home to some of the European Union institutions, other international organizations and many international companies.  Almost 40 percent of the residents of the city are expatriates.  The cultural life here is varied and sophisticated, with beautiful museums, architecture, and excellent music and theatre.

It is my pleasure to lead this dynamic team of CF and DND members working to support Canada’s contribution to NATO.

D.D.G. Mulcair
